PSHE (including RSE)
At Daresbury, we teach PSHE using the Jigsaw PSHE scheme of learning. Jigsaw is a progressive, whole-school approach that supports children to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, build positive relationships and prepare for life beyond school.
At Daresbury, PSHE is an important part of our wider Personal Development provision and supports our children to SHINE as Safe, Healthy, Independent, Nurturing and Exploring individuals. Jigsaw is complemented by My Happy Mind, online safety, assemblies, workshops and wider personal development opportunities. Together, these help our children develop confidence, resilience, positive relationships and the skills they need to make safe and healthy choices.
Jigsaw is taught from Reception to Year 6 through six half-termly units, known as Puzzles. Each year group explores the same Puzzle at an age-appropriate level, allowing knowledge, vocabulary and skills to build progressively as children move through school.

2. Celebrating Difference
